California-based MiaSolé, a world leader in solar energy, sponsors the ARTAT 2011 Festival of Contemporary Arts, to celebrate the launch of the Western Solar Park at Rhosygilwen.
The Western Solar Park at Rhosygilwen in North Pembrokeshire will connect to the grid this summer. To celebrate, the California-based company, MiaSolé, which supplies the park’s unique solar panels, is sponsoring Rhosygilwen’s annual ARTAT Festival that takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend of August 26-29.
The Western Solar park represents a new model for funding the arts in rural communities. Renewable energy is an exciting growth industry worldwide that can partner with the arts in environmental causes. One of the themes of the ARTAT 2011 Festival will be art from recycled resources. See Rhosygilwen’s website.
